Old Town and Castle Tour (10230)

Tours to the City Centre and Castle

Description

The combined old town and castle tour brings history to life. With a tour through the winding alleys of the old town you can get to know the many different faces of Heidelberg - dreamy squares, the oldest university in Germany, the Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Spirit) and the Jewish Quarter. And then it's up to the castle with the funicular railway. In a tour around the inner courtyard and the castle garden you can discover the electoral residence ruins and visit the famous giant barrel (no inside areas).

Note: Price for admission into the castle courtyard is not included in the rate. Adults 9.00 € per person, students 4.50 € per person. The castle ticket includes the return journey by funicular railway to the castle, the entrance to the castle courtyard, the visit to the wine barrel and the entrance to the German Pharmacy Museum.

Note: Coaches travelling from Heidelberg Old Town to the castle must take a diversion (approx. 15 km/30 minutes) via Gaiberg, as the Neue Schlossstraße is closed to vehicles with a total weight of 3.5 tonnes or more until further notice. Furthermore, the drive to the castle is only possible in conjunction with a paid car park reservation. Further information can be found at www.reiseshop-heidelberg.de.
